I haven't Checked this in quite some time so, here's something for the masses:
"In this world, artists are joyous. Unpredictability is the life of their paintings, their music, their novels. They delight in events not forecasted, happenings without explanation, retrospective."
- I favor the man who knows that he is the king of his own life and it is that life that he must live and in his own time he must live it. I admire the man that knows that he is but one small portion of a bigger unit and fights not to disturb the balance of the universe but determines his own definition for the meaning of life and why he chooses to live it.
"Most people have learned to live in the moment. The argument goes that if the past has uncertain effect on the present, there is no need to dwell on the past. And if the present has little effect on the future, present actions need not be weighed for their consequence. Rather, each act is an island in time, to be judged on its own. ... It is a world of impulse. It is a world of sincerity. It is a world in which every word spoken speaks just to that moment, every glance given has only one meaning."
- Blessed are those who see the world for the first time with their eyes and wakes every morning seeing the world differently every time. All is new and should be treated as such for, if we were to view things as the same or repetitive, surely we would grow tired of it. We have but one life to live and it is imperative that we are aware that when it's over, we simply cannot start again.
"Some say it is best not to go near the center of time. Life is a vessel of sadness, but is noble to live life and without time there is no life. Others disagree. They would rather have an eternity of contentment, even if that eternity were fixed and frozen, like a butterfly mounted in a case."
- I think the theory was that the closer you were to the center of time, the slower time became and, the further you were, the faster. And so, the question is, which would you prefer? I would rather live life despite it's continuum of sadness because, as time continues, one remains with the decision to change his ill fortunes rather than being cowardice - remaining in one fixed and frozen state so long as he is content. That, my friends, is fear.
"For it is only habit and memory that dulls the physical passion. Without memory, each night is the first night, each morning is the first morning, each kiss and touch are the first."
- Which is why I chose self-induced amnesia. Lucky is the man who finds a woman that treats everything like it's the first. I pity the bed that they sleep in.
"If a person holds no ambitions in this world, he suffers unknowingly. If a person holds ambitions, he suffers knowingly, but very slowly."
- The only reason why anxiety ensues is because everyone has too many goddamn expectations. Rid yourself of them and I guarantee you, you would never see yourself disappointed.
